Read Across America/Dr. Seuss Day

Students in grades 2 - 5 came to the library to enjoy story readers from readers from coast to coast via Google Hangout. Readers ranged from Florida to California, and we worked in a reader from Japan.

Pre-K - first grade enjoyed a visit from CenterPoint Energy volunteers reading Dr. Seuss books and making a generous donation to the library.

Students engage with Google Expeditions Augmented Reality

Students and teachers seemed to have not only the moon, but much of the world in their hands March 7 in the EWE library as they got to experiment with Google Expeditions Augmented Reality app. This app is not available to the public yet. A Google Expeditions expert was on-hand to show teachers and students how to see 3-D images of bees, spiders, volcanoes, the planets, the ocean floor, and more. Expeditions Virtual Reality is already available, so if you have VR goggles at home, you could try that now.
